Terms and Conditions for LCD Monitor Panel (South Asia / South East Asia)

Applicable products (“Products”):

1. NW900 19” Wide LCD Monitor – Part Number 7826500000
2. NW2200 22” Wide LCD Monitor – Part Number 7829620000

General Definitions:

“Pixel” refers to each picture element on the screen. Each pixel contains three elements, one of each colour, red, green and blue (or sometimes commonly referred to as dots).

“Defective Pixel” refers to a pixel:
    1. That has any of the 3 colours permanently turned on against a black background (also referred to as bright pixel) or;
    2. That is permanently turned off against a white background (also referred to as dark pixel).

“Warranty Period” is the period which commences from the date of purchase of the product by the original purchaser from an Authorized NEC Computers reseller and ends after the specified period from the date of purchase.

“Zero Pixel Defect Period” is the period which commences from the date of purchase of the product by the original purchaser from an Authorized NEC Computers reseller and ends after the specified period from the date of purchase.

Note: The Warranty Period and Zero Pixel Defect Period may be of different durations.

Limited Warranty:

NEC Computers (NEC) warrants the above Products against defect in material and workmanship, under normal use, and will provide the following warranty support:

Warranty Period: 1 Year
Zero Pixel Defect Period: 1 Year


Determination of Zero Pixel Defect:

During the Zero Pixel Defect Period, the presence of any pixel defect (either bright pixel or dark pixel) will render the LCD Monitor to be considered defective.

Please refer to “How to obtain service” for instructions on obtaining service for your Product.

Determination of LCD Panel defect other than Zero Pixel Defect:

Outside of the Zero Pixel Defect Period, the LCD monitor is only considered to be defective under the following circumstances:

o If there are ten or more defective pixels (combination of bright pixel and dark pixel) over the entire screen;
o If there are five or more bright pixels of the same colour over the entire screen;
o If two defective bright pixels of the same colour adjoin horizontally or vertically.

Repair service for such defects will be provided free of charge if the Product is still within the Warranty Period, otherwise the repairs will be chargeable to the customer.

Exceptions:

The warranty does not apply to screen defects or failures which are due to accident, neglect, misuse, unusual physical or electrical stress, failure of or defect in electrical power, external electrical circuitry, air conditioning or environmental control.

How to obtain service:

At the time of your telephone call, you should ensure that:

(a) Your Product has been registered with NEC,
(b) You have the Product readily accessible,
(c) You have the following details ready:
    o Model Number
    o Serial Number
    o Date of Purchase (usually available from an invoice or receipt)
    o Description of the problem with the Product

The Customer Service Technician (CST) will attempt to resolve your problem over the phone. If your problem cannot be resolved or determined over the phone, it may be necessary to return the Product to NEC for analysis and repair. In this case, the CST will provide instructions on how to return the Product for repair.
